RE: "Big Box"

Gentlemen:

We are in receipt of your seven page document enumerating the moratorium issue you are addressing. Unfortunately, neither my wife or I are qualified, nor do we have the benefit of time or resources to investigate the issues involved. We can only sympathize with your mission.

We do feel that no comment at all would not be in our best interest nor the best interest of the town. We would therefore, like to state that we are opposed t& any big box development

We are both residents of and retailers in Easton. Our businesses are located in the heart of downtown, and our primary business has been in operation for 15 years. We have seen many changes in the retail environment over this period. We have been fortunate to survive with the existing big box competition. Many have not. Should additional major retailers be permitted; many more will fail. Easton will never be the same again.

We have come to love this town, the people in it and our way of life. We simply ask that you consider the issues and the fixture carefully.

Sincerely,

Kenneth T. Shearer
