Subject: Public hearing annexation 13 acres Chapel Road

Mr. Karge: I am unable to attend tonight's public hearing but would

appreciate you passing my comments on to the Mayor and Town Council.

Mayor Butler and esteemed Town Councilmen:

It would seem premature to consider annexation of the 13 acres in question

in light of the present Big Box moratorium. If this request for annexation

was approved and a decision is made by the Town to turn down Lowe's request

or even if Lowe's withdraws their decision (depending on what Home Depot

does), we would be left with a parcel of land zoned for retail development

that may be then entirely out of character with the future planned

developement for the surrounding area. I believe this annexation request

should be tabled until such time as a decision has been made on the future

of Big Box development in Easton and Talbot County, in particular the

parcels at Route #50 and Chapel Road. Thank you. Margaret Roe, 29339
