Subject: Big box issue
http: I'd like to weigh in on the moratorium debate,as I have a personal
stake in the issue:I am a Lowe's employee.
I will keep my comments simple.While I recognize the need for a larger
retail space,even some of us who work for our company hope to see this
growth carefully planned.
What I think should be required of new/existing retailers:
>> a company must first plan for future growth on-site;
only relocate if not physically possible. >> if company
must vacate current location,be required to assist town/county with finding
new tenants;in particular if store is less than 10 years old.
>> plans for new store site must allow for future growth of no less than
20,000 sq.ft.(no exceptions)
This is what I view as "smart growth"
Thank you.
