Major David A. Spencer

Major David A. Spencer began his career with the Easton Police Department May 10, 1977, after serving his country in the U.S. Army where he served as a Military Police Officer and was honorably discharged in April 1977. Upon graduation from the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy Major Spencer served as a road patrol officer, an assistant squad supervisor, and a squad supervisor. He has also served in the Criminal Investigation Unit, on the Department’s Special Weapons Team (SWAT) and also served as the Commander of the SWAT Team, is a certified police instructor and served as the Commander of the Operations Division. He is a graduate of the 72nd class of the Northwestern University Traffic Institute “School of Police Staff and Command.”

Major Spencer attended and graduated from the FBI National Academy, 178th Session in September 1994. Major Spencer served as the Administrative Division Commander for the Easton Police Department until being promoted to Deputy Chief of Police in July 2004. Major Spencer is a graduate of Chesapeake College and holds an Associates of Arts Degree in both Criminal Justice and Business Management. He currently serves as a councilman for the Town of Greensboro. Is a past president of the Greensboro Lions Club where he is still an active member. He has coached Little League baseball and indoor and outdoor soccer teams in the past. He has served as the volunteer chairman for the Caroline County American Cancer Society Golf Championship, and most recently with the Make A Wish Foundation.
