Nitro - Nitro was donated to the Department by The German Shepherd Rescue of Maryland in October of 2001. Nitro received his initial training through the Baltimore County Police Department. Nitro excels in the areas of Nitrate Detection, along with K-9 patrol functions, (tracking, building searches, area searches and crowd control). To date Nitro has been used on several bomb and gun scans. Nitro has completed training from, and is certified by, the North American Police Work Dog Association patrol course and receives training two times a month in conjunction with other regional K-9 units, as well as daily training with his handler.
Marco - K-9 Marco was born in 1997 in Germany and was purchased by the Department in 2000. Marco received initial training with the Ocean City and Baltimore County Police Departments, and currently trains twice a month in conjunction with other regional K-9 units, as well as, daily training with his handler. Marco is also certified through the North American Police Work Dog Association. Marco is certified in drug detection, tracking, building and area searches, suspect apprehension, article searches and obedience. For the year 2003, Marco’s drug scans resulted in over $6,300.00 being seized for forfeiture proceedings, resulting in seven arrests.

Rusty - Rusty is a Belgian Malinois and was bred to be a Police K-9. Rusty was born in the Netherlands on January 3, 2001. Rusty was imported to the United States and began his police career with the Federalsburg Maryland Police Department. Rusty soon completed the Ocean City Maryland Police Departments Training course and was certified in K-9 Patrol and Narcotics in May 2002. Rusty also completed training classes and received certifications from the North American Police Work Dog Association and Virginia Police Work Dog Association. Rusty joined the Easton Police Department in November 2004.

K-9 Patrol functions consist of building searches, crowd controls, article searches and tracking. Rusty and his handler train monthly with the Annapolis Police Department.
