Fire Board Meeting

 

November 5, 2007

IN ATTENDANCE

 

Also in attendance were Town Manager Robert F. Karge, Sr., Chief Drew Jensen, Messer’s Larry Fike, Phil Marshall, Tim Knotts, Ken Bush, Russell Miles and Town Clerk Mrs. Kathy Ruf.

 

CONVENING

 

At 6:15 p.m., the President of the Council called the meeting to order.

 

MEETING

 

The proposed sprinkler ordinance was discussed.

 

Mr. Ford stated that discussions will occur during this evening’s Council meeting on legislation that will deal with provisions of fire sprinklers for existing homes.

 

Chief Jensen updated the Council on Engine 64 replacement. He stated that seven Easton Volunteer Fire Department members had recently visited the plant and had a very productive meeting. Some changes were made which would save money.

 

Chief Jensen asked the Council to consider the transfer of the old engine 64 from the Town to the Fire Department. He stated that it could be used as a reserve piece especially at the Talbot County Airport.

 

Discussion occurred regarding the reduction of automatic alarms.

 

Mr. Jensen joined the meeting at 6:31 p.m.

 

Ms. Jackson-Amis asked if past members were memorialized.

 

Mayor Willey stated that there had only been one Easton Volunteer Fire Department member that had perished in the line of duty.

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

The President of the Council adjourned the Fire Board meeting at 6:39 p.m.
