Also in attendance were the Assistant Town Attorney Ms. VanEmburgh, Town Manager Mr. Karge, Long Range Planner Mr. Thomas, Mr. Larry Neviaser, Mr. Miles Circo from the Affordable Housing Board and Town Clerk Mrs. Ruf.
At 6:30 p.m., the President of the Council, Mr. Ford called the meeting to order.
WORKSESSION
Mr. Thomas briefed on the draft of the proposed inclusionary zoning ordinance. He discussed home sales data comparisons from 2002 and 2007.
Mr. Jensen arrived at 6:53 p.m.
Mr. Circo stated that HUD states that home payments should not exceed 30% of gross income; 25% for house and 5% for utilities.
Discussion followed as to the various pros and cons of the draft ordinance.
Density concerns were discussed.
Mr. Neviaser stated that the Council had to decide how to make the Affordable Housing Program feasible.
Mr. Ford stated that the next discussion would be in Open Session during a regularly scheduled Council meeting.
