Also in attendance were Town Manager Robert F. Karge, Sr., Messer’s Mike Newnam, President; Phil Marshall, Tim Knotts and Town Clerk Mrs. Kathy Ruf.

CONVENING

At 6:16 p.m., the President of the Council called the meeting to order.

MEETING

Mr. Newnam discussed insurance issues.

The Town Manager, Mr. Karge stated that the Town must keep the insurance on the Town owned vehicles due to insurable interest.

Mr. Newnam discussed fundraisers which have been started for the anniversary celebration.

Mr. Knotts stated that the new engine will be delivered prior to April 2008.

Mr. Knotts stated that the Department has had one working fire per week in the past month. He discussed Mr. Stephen Hunter’s fire at Easton Club. He stated that the Department had a stellar response.

Mr. Newnam discussed false alarms and asked the Council to consider a silent alarm ordinance to cut down on unnecessary calls.

Mr. Karge suggested that the police be included in the silent alarm ordinance due to the amount of calls they respond to.

Ms. Scott-Taylor joined the meeting at 6:28 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT

The President of the Council adjourned the Fire Board meeting at 6:35 p.m.
