Also in attendance were the Town Manager Mr. Karge, and Town Clerk Mrs. Ruf.
At 6:00 p.m., the President of the Council, Mr. Ford called the meeting to order.
Public Works
Mr. Brian Hause, Assistant to the Town Engineer and Mr. Michael Dickerson, Superintendent of Public Works discussed their budget requests. They stated that most requests have been left intact.
Mr. Dickerson stated that asphalt costs have doubled.
Mr. Dickerson asked for starting salaries to be reviewed. He suggested that a new garbage truck be purchased every two years due to the excessive use.
Mr. Hause and Mr. Dickerson departed the meeting at 6:56 p.m.
Ms. Scott-Taylor arrived at 6:58 p.m.
Easton Volunteer Fire Department
At 7:00 p.m., Ms. Carol Prettyman, Administrator, Easton Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. discussed their budget requests.
Ms. Prettyman stated that repairs and maintenance are excessive in this year’s budget. They intend to work more closely with the Chief Engineer.
Ms. Prettyman stated that they will be receiving a grant for self breathing apparatus.
Ms. Prettyman departed the meeting at 7:25 p.m.
Parks and Recreation
At 7:30 p.m., Mr. Steve Sviatko discussed the Parks and Recreation’s budget. Mr. Sviatko stated that they are requesting two additional positions for maintenance of parks.
ADJOURNMENT
The President of the Council adjourned the regularly scheduled meeting at 8:20 p.m.
