TOWN OF EASTON, MARYLAND CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

TIME & PLACE:  March 19, 2007; 6:04 p.m., Town Council’s Chambers.

 

PURPOSE: Consult with counsel to obtain legal advice; consider a matter that concerns the proposal for a business or industrial organization to locate, expand, or remain in the State; consult with staff…about pending or potential litigation.

 

CITATION: §10-508(a)(7); §10-508(a)(4); §10-508(a)(8).

 

PRESENT AT CONVENING: Mayor Willey, President of the Council Mr. Ford and Mr. Wendowski. Also in attendance were the Town Manager Robert Karge, Town Attorney Mr. Kehoe, Town Planner Mr. Hamilton, Assistant Town Planner Mr. Thomas, Mr. David R. Thompson and Ms. Brynja McDivitt Booth from Cowdrey, Thompson & Karsten and Town Clerk Mrs. Ruf. Ms. Jackson-Amis was excused.

 

Mr. Thompson stated that the Closed Session is for the advice to the presiding officer of the legislative body.

 

Mr. Thompson and Ms. Booth briefed on legal issues.

 

Mr. Jensen arrived at 6:15 p.m.

 

Ms. Scott-Taylor arrived at 6:23 p.m.

 

At 6:34 p.m., Mr. Thompson and Ms. Booth departed the meeting.

 

Mr. Kehoe arrived at 6:35 p.m.

 

Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Thomas departed the meeting.

 

Mr. Kehoe discussed pending litigation.

 

Mr. Kehoe discussed the County’s initiative relative to Shore Health System’s proposal for a new hospital.

 

Upon motion by Mr. Wendowski, seconded by Mr. Jensen and carried unanimously, the President of the Council adjourned the Closed Session at 6:57 p.m.
