Fire Board Meeting
February 21, 2006

Also in attendance were Town Clerk Robert F. Karge, Sr., Mr. Tim Knotts, Mr. Russell Miles, Mr. Larry Fike, Mr. Barry Slaughter, Mr. Mike Dickerson, Mr. Phil Marshal, Mr. Ken Bush, Mr. David Timms and Mr. Mike Newnam from Easton Volunteer Fire Department.
At 6:20 p.m., the President of the Council called the meeting to order. There was no quorum present.
MEETING
Ms. Scott-Taylor arrived at 6:22 p.m.
Discussion occurred regarding Easton Volunteer Fire Department’s truck needs and the process.
ISO rating for the Department was discussed and the impact of a better rating for the community and businesses.
Mr. Miles discussed room rental fees and suggested an increase of $100 across the board. He stated that they would also like to raise the custodian’s fee by $20 per hour and the Ladies Auxiliary kitchen fee. He stated that they would like to have the right to cancel a contract/event in an event due to an emergency.
Mr. Newnam discussed a potential fund drive for equipment and training needs to alleviate some of the fundraising events now being conducted by the Fire Department.
President Ford asked Mr. Newnam to address the community and make a presentation regarding fundraising efforts during a public Council meeting.
April 2008 will be 200 years for the Easton Fire Department. A muster will be held at Idlewild Park and a parade in April.

The President of the Council adjourned the Fire Board meeting at 6:40 p.m.
