Police Board Meeting

Also in attendance were Town Clerk Robert Karge, Major David Spencer and Assistant to the Town Engineer Mr. Brian Hause.
At 6:15 p.m., the President of the Council called the meeting to order.
UTILIZATION OF PARKING LOT SPACES
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance program has requested to utilize Lot 5 for a promotional trailer tomorrow. Major Spencer stated that parking spaces will be blocked off for the event.
DEPARTMENT’S ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY
Major Spencer stated that the Police Department’s Annual Awards Ceremony will be held at the Avalon March 15 at 7:00 p.m.
LAPTOPS AND IN CAR VIDEO CAMERAS
Installation of the laptops and in car video cameras which were purchased through the Homeland Security Grant are being installed. Six Easton Police Department cars will be equipped with the laptops and the newest version of the in-car video camera.
LT. WRIGHT TO ATTEND NORTHWESTERN SCHOOL OF POLICE STAFF AND COMMAND
Lt. Greg Wright will be attending an eleven week school sponsored by Northwestern School held in Sykesville, Maryland. Graduation will be April 28.
TASK FORCE
The officer currently placed in the Task Force will be re-assigned in March to the Department. Another officer will be assigned to the Talbot County Task Force.
EASTON POLICE DEPARTMENT’S 100TH ANNIVERSARY
Major Spencer advised of upcoming activities related to the anniversary celebration. Lt. Henry is the chairperson for the event.
Mr. Jensen arrived at 6:18 p.m.
BUILDING EXPANSION PROJET
Mr. Hause briefed on the RFP for the Easton Police Department building expansion. He stated that the Planning Commission has given its approval for the project. Mr. Hause discussed the cost estimate. He stated that the figure is not all inclusive and has no contingency fee.
