Police Board Meeting
November 7, 2005

Also in attendance were Town Clerk Robert Karge, Major David Spencer and Chief of Police M.J. Blue.
At 6:00 p.m., the President of the Council called the meeting to order.
PERSONNEL ISSUES
PCO Adams is scheduled to start November 14. A background check is being completed on an additional applicant. There are two recruits to graduate December 15 and an officer has been suspended without pay pending a court hearing.
WATERFOWL FESTIVAL
Chief Blue stated that the department’s participation has started with the loading/unloading zones, no parking and decoration committees.
BUILDING EXPANSION PROJET
Major Spencer recently met with George, Miles and Buhr who is developing sketch plans. GMB will have general blueprints and project cost in approximately 30 days. Major Spencer stated that construction could start in 18 months with construction time approximately 12 months. He stated that this facility should serve the Town for 15 years.
UTILIZATION OF GRANTS
Chief Blue discussed the equipment to be purchased with grants awarded to the department.
RECENT ACTIVITY
On October 27, Easton Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant confiscating CDS and paraphernalia making this the largest seizure in department history.
C-SAFE GRANT
Chief Blue stated that the Department was awarded $36,000.
SEX OFFENDERS
Mayor Willey asked if the Department knows where the registered sex offenders are in the Town of Easton.
Chief Blue stated that this is a high priority with the Sheriff’s agencies. He stated that they share the information.
Ms. Scott-Taylor departed the meeting at 6:42 p.m.

Upon unanimous consensus, the Police Board meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
