Special Town Council Meeting

December 10, 2001

The Town Council of the Town of Easton met today at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by the President of the Council, Mr. Willey, with the following members present: Mr. Ford, Mr. Reed and Ms. Jackson-Amis. Also attending the meeting was Mayor C. Eugene Butler.

Mr. Steve Ochse, CPA and Mrs. Martha Detwiler, CPA of Beatty, Satchell & Company, LLC. discussed the audit for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2001. The various financial results were detailed and compared to previous years. The auditors issued an unqualified opinion, which means that they took no exceptions to the amounts reported in the financial statements which are presented fairly in allowance with generally accepted accounting principles. The auditors discussed the various required disclosures and the changes in financial reporting forthcoming under Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement No. 34. Mr. Ochse stated that the Town is very strong financially, operated conservatively, and that most for profit businesses would be happy to have financial statements as strong as the Town’s.

The meeting was adjourned by the President of the Council at 6:45 p.m.
