SPECIAL MEETING

May 12, 1997

The Town Council of the Town of Easton met today at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by the President, Mr. Willey at the St. Mark's Church on Oxford Road. Also attending the meeting were Mrs. Clem, the Chief of Police, the Town Engineer, Assistant Town Planner, Assistant Town Engineer, the Mayor and the Town Attorney.

Mrs. Clem offered opening remarks including various notices provided to people of the occurrence of this meeting. She noted that no citizens had arrived to raise any concerns with the Council or discuss matters with the Council for this particular meeting.

The President of the Council discussed possible rescheduling of these types of meetings to a lesser frequency in an attempt to match the responses to these meetings.

Mrs. Clem asked each of the Department Heads to identify themselves for purposes of the Easton Community Television video which was being made of this meeting. Discussion followed on the concept of what meetings should occur, when and what the appropriate location might be for community involvement. Mrs. Clem complimented the Town Engineer on the collapsed main repairs. The Town Engineer stated that this was done by Mr. Lineberry, the Assistant Town Engineer. Mrs. Clem raised a couple of issues relating to bushes being trimmed in the triangle in the vicinity of Aurora Street, Dutchman's Lane and Washington Street.

Mrs. Clem thanked the staff members for turning out and complimented the staff for their efforts on behalf of the Town.

Since there was nothing further to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15 P.M.
