The anniversary badge was designed by Pfc. Frank Creegan. The silver portion of the badge replicates the first known badge worn by the officers of the Department. 1906 is the date the Department was first formed under the new Town Charter. The number in the center of the badge is the officers Identification number. The example shown belongs to Chief Blue.

The badges were purchased by the Department, with portions also paid by the Anniversary Committee and the officers themselves. These will be worn by officers and staff of the Department for the duration of this year, then retired.
