Currently five Department members are trained in the field of accident reconstruction. This training was provided by the Maryland State Police. Potential candidates for this position should have knowledge in the areas of Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry. These officers investigate serious injury collisions, where a life threatening injury may exist, or where death to an occupant of a vehicle occurred as a result of the collision.

These officers recently completed a week long training session in the use of a Total Station, mapping equipment used to diagram the accident scene, roadways, and any tire marks, impressions, or other evidence, left at the scene.
